“ORIENTAL DANCING” OR QUITE SIMPLY BELLY DANCE
An Arab expressive dance which originated in Egypt. The term “belly dance” is a translation of the French term “danse du ventre”, which was applied to the dance in the Victorian era, and referred to Egyptian and oriental female dances.
There are 3 primary categories of movements in the dance: Percussive movements, Fluid movements, Shimmies, shivers, and vibrations
